NYC Parks and WCS Release 400 Herring in the Bronx River
NEW YORK (April 10, 2018)--Today, NYC Parks, the Bronx River Alliance, the 菊花视频 and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) came together to stock the Bronx River with 400 alewife, a type of river herring. The restocking is part of an ongoing effort to re-establish a population of these native fish in one of the nation’s most urbanized waterways. CT DEEP trapped and transported the fish from Connecticut to the Bronx via a dedicated Fish Tank-er trunk, releasing the fish into the river through a large hose.

The Bronx has it all! Boogie Down at the Bronx Zoo presents a variety of many cultural contributions that have resonated from the Bronx. Starting on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22, and continuing weekends from May 5 through June 3, artists and performers from a diverse representation of Bronx cultures will be on-site to celebrate the Bronx Zoo, Bronx culture, and wildlife.
